As the captain of the vessel you have to freedom to chart your own course, but it’s your responsibility to make sure you get there and back safely. You do NOT have enough gas to get to Crystal River or Weeki Wachi. It is NOT a good idea to drive outside the channel in unmarked areas.

You may bring any legal substance on our boat. By law the driver of the boat may not be under the influence of or impaired by any substance. Your passengers of legal drinking age may drink. Keep in mind, you’ll be in the sun and on the water for several hours which typically affects folks more than drinking on land. You are repsonsible for the safety of your passengers which includes moderating their activities.
Yes, every boat comes with a bimini top. You can generally expect the rear seats to be covered in shade.
You are responsible for any damage which occurs to the boat during your rental period. We do not offer insurance. You should read our Safe Boating section to make sure you understand how to stay in the channel. We will show you all of the components of the boat and annotate their condition on the contract before you leave the dock and look at everything again when the boat returns. We encourage you to take pictures before you leave to avoid any conflicts when you return.
All boats have a Coast Guard capacity plate attached to them showing number of people and/or weight limit. Regardless of age or size, everyone on board is considered a person and is counted towards the maximum capacity. If your passengers are large, you may hit the weight limit before you hit the number of people limit and if everyone is petite you may hit the number of people limit before the weight limit. The lower limit of the two applies. Make sure you count the weight of your gear as well. A 20 foot boat is rated for 6 people or 1,500 pounds. A 22 foot holds 10 people or 1,800 pounds and a 24 foot rental boat holds 12 people or 2,000 pounds.
Anyone born AFTER 1988 needs a Boaters Certificate. We check the ID of everyone renting our boats and strictly enforce this. You may get your Florida Boat Rental License here.
